EIA at Boston GreenFest August 19 & 20!

Join EIA and Conservation Law Foundation at Boston GreenFest, the region’s largest multicultural environmental festival, this Friday and Saturday on Boston’s City Hall Plaza. There’s something for everyone: great performances and food, eco-fabulous programs for adults and kids, and green vendors and exhibits galore! Make sure to stop by the EIA/CLF table to play Transit Trivia and enter our raffle to win a whale watch adventure for four (two adults + 2 kids) from Boston Harbor Cruises! We’ll be in Green Corridor 3, near the eco-car viewing area!

Fri., Aug. 19, noon – 9pm
Sat, Aug. 20, 11am – 8pm

Where: Boston City Hall Plaza/Government Center Directions

How: Walk, take the T (Boston City Hall Plaza is conveniently located near several MBTA stations, the commuter rail, and many bus lines), or bike — and enjoy valet bike parking from EIA partner MassBike!

This summer and fall, explore wildlife sanctuaries across Massachusetts as part of Mass Audubon’s Discovery Days. Free admission and free activities for all, including live animal demonstrations, naturalist-led walks, crafts and more!!

Saturday, July 16 - Wilds of Worcester
Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary
, Worcester
Explore Broad Meadow Brook’s 400 acres of peace and beauty. Enjoy guided nature walks, crafts, face painting, raptors, food, and more.
10 am to 3 pm

Saturday, August 6 – Nature Play Day
Drumlin Farm, Lincoln
Celebrate outdoor play the old-fashioned way! Romp in the hay playground, test your skills on the nature obstacle course, explore the Forest Discovery Trail, and visit the farm animals.

Saturday, September 10 – Fall Bird Migration
Blue Hills Trailside Museum, Milton
Discover the secrets of why birds travel south and the preparations they need to make. There will be hourly programs and activities featuring the opportunity to meet hawks, owls, and other animals.

Saturday, October 1 – Grand Opening of Attleboro Springs’ Reflection Trail
Attleboro Springs Wildlife Sanctuary, Attleboro
Celebrate the first anniversary of this new sanctuary and the grand opening of the new Reflection Trail. Animals, vernal pool activities, children’s crafts and traditional games in the field make this a fun filled day for all.
10 am to 3 pm

Saturday, October 22 – Fall by the Bay
Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, South Wellfleet
Discover Wellfleet Bay during one of its most beautiful seasons. Explore 1,100 acres of salt marsh, sandy beach, pine woodland, freshwater pond, and rare heathland that attracts a wide array of wildlife. The day’s events will include adult- and kid-friendly naturalist guided walks and a fun scavenger hunt, as well as opportunities to explore the building’s innovative green features.

Take a guided canoe paddle up the Ipswich River to look for turtles, birds, and muskrats; walk to a beaver lodge; discover pond creatures; and explore the famous “Rockery”.
